The Wall
Poem

Copyright (1999) by Michelle Magnuson

'The Wall'

Names engraved so deeply,
forever on the wall;
For those who fought and died,
rememberance to them all.
Flowers trim the bottom,
ribbons, forget-me-nots;
Each name has a story,
not one of them forgot.
Many come to leave a gift,
some to say a prayer;
Many come who shed a tear
and wish a name not there.
Others come to give a blessing,
a gift for each and all;
For they know what sacrafice was made
by each name upon the wall.
